A New Windsor jury found a former school security guard not guilty of sexually abusing a female student in March.

Marcos Trinidad, 40, of Delores Trail, Plattekill, was cleared Tuesday of the charges lodged against him on March 28, endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree sexual abuse, both misdemeanors, according to his lawyer, John Ingrassia.

A 14-year-old ninth-grader at Heritage Junior High School told police Trinidad sexually abused her in an elevator while he was escorting her to a class.

Trinidad was terminated as a result.

During the trial in New Windsor Town Court, a teacher testified that the girl told her after the arrest that nothing happened.
