On June 10, 2010 the criminal trespass charge that Middletown Alderman Joel Sierra faced has been dismissed, said his lawyer, John Ingrassia. The same charge against Sierra’s cousin, Rafael Cordero, 30, of Middletown, was also dismissed. They had faced the charge after a tenant in a building owned by Sierra’s family claimed the two had stormed into his apartment and told him to move out.

Middletown’s judges disqualified themselves from the case. In Walden Village Court before Justice Raynard Ozman, Ingrassia said the two men had presented alibis and that likely played a role in the prosecution offer of adjournment in contemplation of dismissal.
